Céad Míle Fáilte

Whether you're a native of Clones, or are a first time visitor,

Ireland and Monaghan Clones (or Cluain Eois, in Irish translation) is a small picturesque town located in the Republic of Ireland (Éire), with a population of approximately 2500. The town has a unique character and unique local characters! Over the years, the town has produced world famous personalities: Patrick McCabe, author of the novel / movie The Butcher Boy, noted playwright, Eugene McCabe and (of course) Barry McGuigan, World Featherweight Champion in 1985. The town is situated close to the Northern Ireland border and (as a direct result of it's location) has endured much hardship over the past couple of decades. The town is now in a period of regeneration.

Have dander through the town (see the Virtual Tour menu to the left of your screen) or introduce yourself to the local people by browsing through the picture gallery .... And while you're at it, why not sign our guestbook and peruse our message boards. There's a lot in here - Who knows what (or who) you might find?!
